Liquid Treasures, Strathclyde 27 Year Old, 1992
Ex Bourbon Barrel$219.99
A long aged grain whisky from Strathclyde distillery produced on column stills. This whisky is made by cooking wheat in a pressure cooker like arrangement with 9% barley in the mix for 4 hours before then fermenting for 50 hours.
Nose: Such a clean spirit highlights the oak profile in all it’s glory. Dessicated coconut and snow balls. (White marshmallows dipped in chocolate and dusted with coconut) Lime cordial and pear juice.
Palate: Very gentle and well mannered on the palate with a surprising thickness for a grain whisky. Flavours of buttered white bread and white chocolate. Juicy kiwi fruit.
Finish: It’s a vanilla party that keeps on going and going. Think those 80’s desserts at The Big Pineapple and add a bit of pleasant oak spice.
